Infertility Resources

Infertility is a condition when even after trying to conceive a baby more than a year and not getting pregnant. When you are not able to reproduce you car called an infertile person.

There are many reasons of infertility. In case of women the chances of sluggish ovaries or ovulation not taking place or hormonal disturbance could be responsible for infertility. If the fallopian tubes, which carry the eggs from the ovaries in the uterus, are blocked or damaged because of some infection, then the woman can not get pregnant. It takes woman’s egg and man’s sperm to make a baby. If the egg can not reach the uterus then it becomes that much difficult to get pregnant.

Infertility can be primary infertility, secondary infertility. Primary infertility is when the woman has not conceived at all in the past. Secondary infertility is referred to a woman who has delivered a baby in the past but facing difficulty in conceiving again. If a woman is having recurring miscarriages then she also gets infertility treatment.

In case of the man if his sperm count is low or if he does not produce any sperms then the man is called infertile. If hormonal imbalance is the cause the doctor may suggest some medication but unfortunately medication to improve the sperm count is not available.

Infertility has nothing to do with the thought if you want to have a child or no. It has everything to do with faulty reproductive organs. You do not become infertile because you are leading unhealthy lifestyle. Leading a healthy lifestyle is a good idea for a healthy baby.

Though age plays a part in fertility it is not the only factor responsible for infertility. Women over 35 may face difficulties in getting pregnant because of their body clock and the egg production in the ovaries. Infertility can be faced in younger age as well.

Sometimes the doctor may not find any fault in the couple but still they can not have a baby. The reason of such infertility can not be explained by the doctors. They just tell the couples to keep trying!

If you know the cause of infertility you need to address it. There are infertility treatments available. They are expensive but if you have infertility insurance you can take advantage of it and get the infertility treatment. You can not wish infertility away neither you can ignore it.

Infertility can cause tremendous stress in the relationship. Couples need to take help of a counselor to deal with the trauma. It helps to remember that most of the times infertility IS curable!
